UPC Faculty take on Leadership Roles in the ISA |

Asokumar Buvanendran, MD, Associate Professor of Anesthesiology and Director of Orthopedic Anesthesia at Rush University Medical and a University Pain Center Pain Medicine Attending Physician, was recently elected President of the Illinois Society of Anesthesiologists (ISA) for the 2010-2011. As part of his duties, he will serve as one of the Illinois Delegates to the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA)'s House of Delegates. The next meeting of the ASA's House of Delgates will be held during the ASA's Annual Meeting in San Diego, California, on Oct 16-20, 2010.
Dr. Timothy Lubenow, Professor of Anesthesiology at Rush University Medical Center and Director of the Rush Pain Clinic for University Pain Centers, was recently elected the Chairman of the Illinois Medical Anesthesia Political Action Committee (IMPAC). The IMPAC, which serves as a political voice for ISA was founded in 1991. The ISA works with IMPAC to enhance the voice of medicine in Springfield. IMAPAC remains active in state elections to help keep the concerns of anesthesiologists in the legislative forefront in Illinois. For more information about IMPAC, visit the ISA website.
